As you are aware the citizen’s of Boston, while celebrating the 117th annual Boston Marathon became a victim of a horrific Terrorist attack. As runners were still coming in, family, friends, and observers were cheering the runners on as they were the last few hundred feet to the finish line. When suddenly a bomb denoted injuring scores of spectators, without hesitation help began making their way to the area of the blast. Moments later a second bomb went off several yards down the road.
Dave’s EMS Headquarters extends it sorrow and prayers for the victims killed, critically injured, and for those who suffered as a result of the cowardly terrorist act on Monday April 15, 2013.
Due to the bravery of the EMS Medics, Police Officers, Firefighters, the National Guard along with the Boston Marathon volunteers, including Nurses and Doctors. Several civilians jumped in as well despite the second explosion, and the possibility of even more, they treated the victims that saved several dozens of the injured. Their action made it possible for the victims to be transported by ambulances to Boston area hospitals who took over the treatment and care of the injured.
Bostonians should be very proud of the Emergency Service Divisions, consisting of EMS Police and Firefighters, as well as the Hospitals readiness to handle such an awful Mass Causality Incident. The Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses, and support staff performed flawlessly. Please keep all these providers in your prayers as well, as they will be stressed with the memories of the trauma they were forced to face head on and saved lives.
